Are you a low-income resident of Texas? Do you live in a deregulated area where you can choose your own electricity provider?

If so, you may qualify for the LITE-UP TEXAS program. As a participant you’ll receive discounted energy rates during the months of May, June, July, August and September.

LITE UP TEXAS participants must currently be receiving benefits from Medicaid or the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP). If you’re not enrolled in either program, you can still qualify for LITE UP TEXAS if your household income is at or below 125 percent of the federal poverty guidelines.

If you don’t meet any of the qualifications above, you might still be able to enroll based on your household income. (See the chart below.)
